Shortly before my deployment to Iraq I began training at REAL Mixed Martial Arts. I have been to more than one MMA school in the past and the sense of camaraderie, discipline and commitment at REAL is unparalleled. The training facility is state of the art and everyone is willing to help during class, whether they are an instructor or a more knowledgable student. It may take a lot of time and hard work to master techniques taught at REAL but even after the first few classes you learn enough to help build your self confidence, fitness level and work ethic. Lessons learned at REAL are applicable in and outside of the dojo.
Needless to say, I am looking forward to going back to training at REAL MMA when I return from Iraq.

Since I have started training at Real I have learned how to focus. I learned how to see what I have to do, and block ou all outside distractions to concentrate on the task at hand. That lesson and the many others I have learned have allowed to me to improve in not just my martial arts skills, but in the way I go about my life.

As a former collegiate athlete I found REAL at a time in my life where practice on the field had been replaced by changing diapers and time in the weight room had been replaced by hours of mindless Disney channel cartoons. But from the first day I began my training at REAL I was able to reconnect with the elements of my former life in a way that has paid dividends beyond my initial expectations. While the physical challenges offered to me at REAL have been daunting, they have shown me that I always have just a little more to offer in my efforts. This is a lesson I have been able to apply to both my personal and professional life. To say that I have gotten back into shape is a given (and I have enjoyed the experience so much more then the mundane activity of churning out reps on some lame fitness machine), but I have also sharpened by mental focus and commitment to discipline. Not everyone that trains at REAL is a fighter in the pure sense; but we all learn to train like one and apply that to our daily lives outside the dojo. This is evident in both the camaraderie shared by all of those that train at REAL and the commitment we offer to our work in and out of the dojo. For me, REAL is part gym, part family and most importantly, a more focused lifestyle.

Training at Real MMA opened a new chapter in my life.
Aside from giving me a place where I can wail away on aheavy bag until I can't lift my arms, giving me a place where I can leave ahard day at the office behind me, aside from teaching me real skills that Icarry with me wherever I go, REAL MMA has given me a place to get an excellent workout and be in better shape than I've ever been.
After being at Real MMA for just over a year I am learningabout the depth of martial arts. I understand that it takes time to learn theseskills. It takes hard work and commitment, and being around other hard working, committed people feels good. You'll learn who you are at REAL.

My son has been going to Real MMA for the past 2 years. The classes have taught him discipline and have given him confidence in his everyday life. The workouts are excellent to help you live a healthy lifestyle. He has excelled in other sports which I feel has a direct correlation to his training at REAL. I highly recommend this training to kids and adults.

My daughter has been going to Real MMA ,I have seen such a tremendous boost in her self esteem. Every time she goes onto the mat I am so proud of what she does out there. The thing that has the biggest meaning to me is that the school is not a belt factory as is with so many other schools in the area. She understands that she earns each and every belt and is grateful for it. At times she is the only girl in the class and through Sensei Brian's instruction she can hold her own with most any child in the group. I can't say enough about the instruction that she receives at Real MMA and the determination that she feels as she works her way to a Black Belt.
